LEDs - (light-emitting diodes) are the future in automotive lighting. You’ve already seen them begin to take over the rear of the car in terms of taillights, brake lights and CHMSLs (center high-mounted stop lamp, also known as third brake lights, which are required by law). LEDs are becoming more popular for interior lighting and have even started to appear at the front of the vehicle in various locations. Also LEDs use less energy, they last longer and they are generally easier to package than their competition.
